• The Piano Guys named their group after the piano store where Paul Anderson and Jon Schmidt first met.
• Paul Anderson (Producer/Videographer) did not like piano lessons as a child, but grew up to discover a love for electronic pianos.
• Al Van Der Beek (Music Producer/Songwriter) was born in New Zealand, has both Dutch and Samoan heritage, and learned the violin when he was young.
• Al Van Der Beek (Music Producer/Songwriter) was a member of 4-On-The-Floor, a hip-hop group made up of 4 teenagers from Utah.
• Steven Sharp Nelson (Cellist/Songwriter) enjoys creating unconventional sounds on the cello by tapping, strumming, and other means.
• Jon Schmidt (Pianist/Songwriter) is of German descent, started writing music when he was 11, and became a piano teacher at 16 years old.
