The Musician of the Month Project originated in the Somerville (MA) Public Schools under the supervision of Richard G. Saunders, former Music Director. The instructional design and curriculum development team also includes Adam McLean (Curriculum Director / Lead Editor), Cathy Ward (Lead Contributor), and Kristin Stier (Lead Contributor). A 2019-2020 Boston University Consortium Grant supported the expansion of the curriculum and the launching of this website, which was created by Will Houchin. Tawnya Smith, Assistant Professor of Music Education at Boston University, provided valuable advice and feedback to us throughout our process.
