  • Joshua Xavier Gutierrez Alonso is known professionally as Xavi.
  • Xavi plays the requinto guitar, a popular instrument in Regional Mexican music. 
  • Xavi was raised in Phoenix, Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. 
  • The first song he learned to play on guitar was “Baby” by Justin Bieber. 
  • At age 12 he wrote his first original song.
  • Artists that inspire Xavi are Camila and San Bandera, popular for their traditional crooning vocal style.

    Beware- Xavi’s music isn’t very appropriate for most children. You could maybe use this unit in a high school, but definitely make sure to do your research on translations before using!
